Our Celebrant:
The incredible Reverend Annie Lawrence was our choice from hundreds of possibilities. We loved the sound of this woman who has been fighting for equality in the USA and who is full of charm and wit and loads of love for the many couples she has wed over the years. After some emailing back and forth, we finally got to meet Rev Annie via Skype where we shared the most enjoyable hour together discussing everything from Broadway shows to Doctor Who and everything in between! Rev Annie has felt like the perfect choice since we had an instinct about her from her online info and this meeting solidified our choice. We couldn’t have hoped for a more perfect celebrant for us and we can’t wait for her to write our ceremony!

Our Musician:
On the hunt for a wedding musician, we came across a website called gigmasters.com. This site is great because it allows you to view video and audio of the various artists, read reviews from their audiences and see how many people have booked them for their own events. Frank seemed like a good choice for us because not only did he sound good, come with five star reviews and many bookings but the first song available on his sample videos also happens to be the song that Theresa proposed to Chelsea by (among others). After some exchange with the man himself, it was decided he will play for our ceremony and have a jam to accompany our picnic. Exciting!

Our Photographer:
For our photographer we are booking the amazing Kelly Prizel. Our decision to book her was based solely on her website. The photos are beautiful and encompass everything we want in our wedding photos. Our plan is to get all the New York classics – Yellow Taxis, Times Square and of course Central Park. It helps that she has been super friendly through all of our communication so far! An example from her work:

Hair & Makeup:
We have chosen to book two different vendors for these services (funnily enough and quite different to NZ, it’s quite common to book separate hair and makeup artists for the day). First up we have Laura Nadeau who is designing our makeup for the day. We found her via our celebrant’s website as a recommended choice. And for hair we have booked Sachiko Yanase who was on the same list of recommended vendors. We’ve been in touch with both of these ladies for months and months now and we are looking forward to finally meeting them when he hit New York!
